MEET DIANA GARCÍA

Diana García doesn’t just create—she channels, transforms, and reimagines. A filmmaker by trade but a cosmic storyteller at heart, Diana’s path has danced through modeling, acting, sculpture, street art, and spiritual exploration. With roots in Mexico and branches stretching toward the mystical, her work fuses pre-Hispanic traditions, Catholic rituals, and mythologies into vivid expressions of inner and outer transformation.

From international film festivals to city walls splashed with dream-creatures, Diana follows her intuitive muse—the playful voice that whispers, what if? Whether through murals, altars, jewelry, or curating immersive experiences, she invites us to reconnect with the sacred, the wild, and the unseen. Inspired by animal familiars, ancestral whispers, and the Rainbow Warriors prophecy, her creations are not just art—they’re portals.

Step into her world…

WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?

I’m a filmmaker.

WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?

I dedicate my life to make my dreams of the moment come true. From personal inner goals to become a more peaceful human, find inner & outter love, to creative explorations. I´ve been through different waves of creation over the years, have a degree in Communication; was a model in my teens, worked in Miami, NY and México City; became an actress in my 20´s, some of my films traveled to international film festivals like Sundance & Cannes. Started doing murals & sculptures in my 30´s. In this new decade I´ve also been curating experiences & art shows, still acting sometimes, making art, sculptures, altars, & starting my jewelry line called NAGA based on animal amulets.

WHAT IS YOUR STRENGTH?

Following that playful voice inside me that keeps saying: what if??? & creating from there.

WHAT’S ONE THING LESS OF THE POPULATION KNOWS ABOUT YOU?

I´m really shy.

HOW IS YOUR WORK DIFFERENT TODAY SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED WITH IT? ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR INFLUENCES THAT HAVE SHAPED IT?

With my art I´ve always been driven to make physical some spiritual concepts / messages & have evolved into different forms. I started mostly drawing animal amalgamas inspired by the Rainbow Warriors Prophecy. I thought that pasting them on the streets of every city I traveled could help us manifest them together. I´m currently more inclined into syncretism, mixing various spirtual believes / religions / leyends. The closest mix for me is Mexican prehispanic with catholisism. I love all their rituals and similarities. Its funny that at the end, all beliefs are the same, the final message for most is peace, love, & self responsibility / transformation. I´m influenced by Mexican alebriges, indigenous leyends, Frida, Egon Schiele, Basquiat, Tim Burton…

WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ANIMALS AND HOW DID THEY START COMING THROUGH IN YOUR ART?

We grew up with a spider monkey named Chiquis, she lived for 35 years. My grandparents rescued her on a trip they did to Chiapas and decided to keep her. My grandma is an animal whisper, animals are her familiars, she taught that to my mother, and my mother raised us like that too, with many familiars to share with. My deeper connection to animals started when I was 16, & I had my first ferret. I realized I could communicate with him directly. I´ve had 4 ferrets: Kato, Monaje, Fafurina & Churru. One of my purposes is to be a voice for animals, & with their help maybe we can influence a bit on changing how humans act in this world. The Rainbow Warriors prophecy says that eventually humans from different groups will hold hands & will help Earth flourish again, & that plants will guide us & extinct & mystical animals will help us. I like thinking that sharing my GUAR*DIANAS can help ignite the process.

I’VE SEEN YOUR WORK ALL OVER THE WORLD IN SOME UNIQUE PLACES. HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON WHICH PROJECTS TO WORK ON?

I´ve been very lucky, since my art is about the mission I just shared, the Universe has supported my adventures. I used to take GUAR*DIANAS everywhere I travel and paste them in special locations that felt alligned with the mission, spots where the Rainbow Warriors would gather.

DO YOU HAVE A PROCESS FOR NAVIGATING SETBACKS? WHAT DO YOU LOOK TO FOR INSPIRATION OR TO RECONNECT?

I try to call them “other kinds of opportunities” or even “saviors”. I think that if something doesn´t align with what we expect, its probably because it´s not time for that experience. Life is an eternal duality, we can grow and mature from all emotions. Without darkness, we wouldn´t know there´s light. This helps come back to myself when in challenging experience. But yes, to go through them, I try to go inward and see what can I shift inside, what´s the Universe exposing that I am still holding myself into? I believe that the Earth experience is about removing limiting thoughts, and we constantly get opportunities to clear ourselves & open to freedom. Nature is the best way to recconect by feeling, appreciating, praying & making beautiful offerings to Her.

HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO DANCE WITH DIFFERENT MEDIUMS? HOW DID THIS EVOLVE FOR YOU?

I´ve always done various mediums, I just didn´t share all of them since the beginning. I have a problem focusing on one thing for too long, so usually in my studio I have a few projects going on in different stationaries. It´s so nice to jump from one theme to another.
